Robert Pattinson is officially the new Batman. Warner Bros. has closed the deal for the ‘Twilight’ actor to play the Dark Knight in ‘The Batman’.

Matt Reeves’ forthcoming superhero film hits theaters June 25, 2021. It was first reported on May 16 that Pattinson was the top choice for the part, and Warner Bros. confirmed today that Pattison, the star of the Twilight franchise as vampire Edward Cullen, had signed.

Pre-production on the off-again on-again Warner Bros.-DC Comics movie is expected to start this summer.

Reeves, the filmmaker behind the last two ‘Planet of the Apes’ sequels, assumed the helming mantle for the film, taking over from Ben Affleck in January, 2017.

Reeves will produce ‘The Batman’.
