Rogers to join Chelsea in record £117m transfer

English PRemier League club have thrown £117m to Aston Villa for the signature of Morgan Rogers.
The Blues are set to splash a record transfer fee on the Englishman who led Aston Villa to Europa League glory last season.
According to report, he will sign a six years deal with the option for an extra year, and his medical is expected on Monday.

Head coach Xabi Alonso has been handed the task of making Chelsea a force again after a poor season in which Chelsea finished in 10th position for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

The former Real Madrid coach has been handed high-profile signings Marco Plestra and Geovany Quenda, with Emmanuel Emegha making his way back to Stamford Bridge after a detour at Strasbourg.

However, Rogers represents the club’s biggest move of the summer, and the midfielder’s transfer will shatter the £107m paid for Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

Rogers also becomes the most expensive British transfer, replacing Elliot Anderson’s £116m deal to Manchester City.

Rogers currently at the 2026 World Cup with England, was part of Aston Villa’s Europa League winning team. He spent over two years at Aston Villa, scoring 31 goals and provided 29 assists in 125 appearances.
