The Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has said that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will be a very tough match.
The West African neighbours are billed to meet later today at the refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City behind closed doors according to the directive from the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the Super Eagles’ training session at the venue of the match, Rohr said the game will be interesting because the Sierra Leoneans equally boast of a good team built around young players.
According to him, the Super Eagles will go into the match with determination and commitment to win because it is not a friendly encounter.
“My expectations are to make a good match as always. The result is important. It is not friendly but a competition. We want to win. We are home but it will be difficult.
Also speaking, Captain Ahmed Musa said the team is ready and waiting for the match.
“The coach has to give every player the opportunity to play. With the quality of players that we have, we are ready,” he said.
