The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Thursday, said any decision on the fate of the Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr, must follow due process.

He said this while fielding questions from State House reporters during the weekly ministerial briefing hosted by the Presidential Communication Media Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Minister said his ministry would follow due process in dealing with matters concerning the national football players and the technical staff.

Dare said he would wait for the report from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on the performance of the team in the recent matches, review it before taking necessary action.

He said this when asked to confirm whether the national team coach had been sacked or asked to resign.

Dare who said he could not speak much on the matter, assured that that the NFF report would be ready by next week.

The Minister, however, expressed confidence that the Super Eagles will qualify for Qatar 2022 as everything would be done to ensure that.

Rohr, who was appointed Super Eagles coach in August 2016, has come under intense criticisms following the Super Eagles poor performances in recent outings.

The 68 year-old German tactician signed an extension in May, 2020.
