This shortage is as a result of increasing population witnessed during the period, making social amenities inaccessible to the people. Pipe borne water is now a forgotten issue as a result of this scarcity. Residents are forced to trek long distance to fetch from a nearby stream, which polluted with effluents from the oil refinery close by.
Many of the open wells are also contaminated or have dried up. Majority of the toiling masses cannot afford boreholes in their homes. This is why we plead with the Kaduna State Government and the Ministry of Water Resources to as a matter of urgency expand and reconstruct the water supply route leading to the town, to make life better for the people.
