The Rotary Club of Abuja Sapphire (D9125) has adopted Damagaza community in Lokogoma District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to provide water and healthcare for residents.

The president of the club, Ms. Eunice Emoh, made this known at an investiture and award/fund raising ceremony in Abuja.

Ms. Emoh said the club would also provide free medical checkup for the aged, with free HIV test and treatment for the residents.

She said the club visited the community and saw that water and health facilities were the major needs of the people.

Emoh also said the club would embark on tree-planting in the community to further sustain the environment.

The president said at every stage of life and career, Rotary had something to offer, and urged all members to team up and remain inspired to ease the plight of humanity.

She added that the club was poised to deliver on the projects, but required the support of well-meaning Nigerians to do so.

The Head of Damangaza community, Mr. James Budebo, said the residents were very happy with the initiative. (NAN)
