Rotary club has distributed free drugs, mosquito nets, sanitary pads and other healthcare facilities  worth N10 million to residents of Kaduna to commemorate its Rotary Family Health Day.
President of Kawo-Kaduna Rotary club, Fasasi Akintunde Gbenga, said the free medical care and service has become a tradition for Rotary which has been carried out every year to help the less privileged in the society.
President of the Rotary Club Kaduna, Salihu Ahmed, said they have plans to provide furniture’s to schools, sponsor patients to India for surgery, carryout free cataract treatment and to support the government in pertinent respect.
In a related development, a  Non Governmental Organization (NGO) under the aegis of Empowering Women for Excellence Initiative has called on the government of Kaduna State to formulate and implement effective healthcare policies that can meet the needs of the people.
 Speaking in Kaduna at a capacity building workshop on gender based violence, organized for social welfare workers, the Programme Officer administration and logistics, Joy Anthony, said the well-being of every society is closely linked to quality healthcare system, programmes and policies.
 Anthony, also decried the level of violence against women, saying that it is a major contributor to health problems, not only among women but to the society in general.
