The Rotary Club Abuja Pearl has donated a 20-kilowatt solar power system to Kubwa General Hospital to help address electricity challenges at the health facility.

The project, executed in partnership with Bartum Energy, was inaugurated at two critical blocks of the hospital housing the emergency, antenatal, paediatric and gynaecology clinics, as well as the records and compound offices.

Speaking during the inauguration, Rotary District Governor, Joy Niky Okoro, said the intervention aligns with the club’s focus on disease prevention and treatment.

She noted that the solar energy project would improve healthcare delivery while promoting the use of clean and renewable energy.

The Charter President of the Rotary Club Abuja Pearl, Victoria Imomoh, said the hospital was selected for the intervention after members witnessed how emergency responders at the facility saved the life of a driver during a medical emergency.

The Chief Medical Director of Kubwa General Hospital, Emmanuel Musa, commended the club for the gesture, describing the project as timely and beneficial to healthcare services at the hospital.
