The Rotary Club International District 9125 has pledged to equip a cancer treatment centre in Benue State.

District Governor of the Rotary International District 9125, Nigeria Rotrn Ayoola Oyedokun, made the pledge during a visit to Governor Ortom in Makurdi.

Oyedokun requested for a cancer treatment centre to be built by the state while the organisation equips same as a partner of the project.

He said Rotary Club International seeks partnership with state governments with facilities so as to equip them for the treatment of cancers of all kinds.

Oyedokun added that the Rotary Club currently wants to recruit more members and expand its coverage to the hinterland as it planned to continue executing projects with direct bearing on the lives of the people.

Responding, Governor Samuel Ortom, said that a cancer treatment centre was already in place waiting to be equipped.

The governor applauded the Rotary Club for being supportive of the Internally Displaced Persons in the state and for showing great concern to the plight of the masses as well.
