Rotary clubs under District 9125 are set to hold a cultural evening as part of the activities to unveil its Four Way Test and coincidentally, mark the 111-year anniversary of the Rotary Club International.
Programmes for the event, billed to hold in Abuja on February 23, include a series of cultural performances including poems, essay competition, drama, dances and talk shows. Other activities include television shows and phone in programmes among others – all in an effort to raise awareness on Rotary Club’s Four Way Test and imbibe them for enhanced behaviour.
Dr. Mike Omotosho, 2015-2016 Governor of the District said: “In the morning, we would talk about the Four Way Test, which is the re-orientation tool. We will also show a few clips of our tourist attractions here in Nigeria to let people know the beautiful things we have in our country.
“We have invited several embassies and many of them have indicated interest to also showcase festivals and tourist attractions of their respective countries.”
Omotosho stated that whatever action a man takes, it should hinge on the Four Way Test, which borders on truth, fairness, goodwill, better friendship and benefits to all concerned. With these guiding principles, the governor was optimistic that Nigeria and by extension, the world would be better for all.
According to him, when people understand and imbibe the right attitudes and go further to apply them in their studies, businesses, reportage and even in the banking sector, such attitudes will become habitual and consequently, cultural – the people’s ways of life.
 As part of the efforts to entrench attitudinal change, Omotosho said he has travelled over 22,000 kilometers of the country as a District governor, trying to encourage clubs to be the best they can, groom themselves as better leaders and to execute projects within the community, which is the primary role of the club.
 “That is why I visited over 160 stakeholders, state governors, ministers and traditional rulers, preaching the Four Way Test.
 “This is exactly what we want to do on February 23. The message is for everybody and when you recognize that the bulk of Nigerians are the masses, you must realize that the message must truly target them and we are not leaving any stone unturned”.
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, is expected to chair the event.
