President of RTEAN Chief Musa Shehu Isiwele disclosed this in Abuja when he received the president of La Prevention Routiere Internationale(PRI), Joop Goos in his office, where he pointed out that the association’s current membership stands at 16million.
Isiwele added that RTEAN is also going to incorporate tricycle owners who recently got affiliated to the association.
He pointed out that the union, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and PRI are collaborating on a tripartite agreement to sustain the overall objective of the decade of action for road safety (2000-2020).
According to him, under the partnership, functional mobile clinics are to be established in the 36 states and Abuja and when fully functional would employ at least seven people in each of the clinics.
“I hope that this tripartite relationship will translate to practical support towards guaranteeing the attainment of the laudable objective of the slogan of the FRSC, ‘Safer Roads, Fuller Lives,’” he said.
In his remarks, Goos noted that a robust collaboration between the association and road safety managers in the country will ensure improved road safety in the years ahead.
