Rubochi community rejoices over elevation of traditional stool to 2nd class

The Rubochi Community Development Association (RUDA), the umbrella body for youth groups in the Rubochi Development Area of the Kuje Area Council, FCT, has commended FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for upgrading the Sa’Rubochiyi of Rubochi Chiefdom, HRH Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim Pada, from third-class to second-class status.

In a statement personally signed and released to newsmen on Saturday, the pioneer president of RUDA, Comrade Joseph Iyako, described the elevation of the traditional ruler as well-deserved.

Iyako noted that the Minister’s decision to upgrade the Rubochi stool, alongside those of other traditional chiefs across the six area councils, will significantly boost morale as they discharge their duties.

He added that the move is a clear demonstration of the Minister’s commitment to identifying with FCT natives and fostering a sense of belonging.

According to the RUDA president, the elevation is a remarkable development that underscores the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s commitment to recognizing traditional institutions and strengthening grassroots governance within the territory.

“History will record this as a defining moment for the natives of the FCT,” Iyako stated.

The association further noted that the Rubochi stool and other third-class chieftaincies had remained at that level since they were installed by the late FCT Minister Jeremiah Useni in 1997.

It is only under the Tinubu administration that these chiefs have finally been upgraded.

While congratulating Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Pada on his elevation, Iyako urged the monarch to use this milestone to attract further development to the Rubochi Chiefdom.

The statement concluded by calling on traditional title holders, palace cabinet members, and other tribal chiefs within the chiefdom to continue supporting the Sa’Rubochiyi to ensure peace, unity, and progress.

Iyako also offered prayers for the monarch’s protection, wishing him a long and prosperous reign.
