South-East governors have declared their zone as impenetrable for the Boko Haram insurgents.

The governors were at the Presidential Villa in Abuja this afternoon to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan.

The governors present at the closed door meeting are those of Abia Ebonyi, Anambra and Enugu States.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano said the sect could not get to the South-East.

He was reacting to the Sunday’s uncovering of three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) reportedly planted in the Living Faith Church, (Winners Chapel), Owerri, Imo State, accommodating over 10,000 worshippers.

The governor said the region was vigilant and watching what was going on, stressing that the Boko Haram insurgents could not get to the region.

He also said they were at the Villa on a solidarity visit to Jonathan.

Obiano said he and his colleagues had assured the president to count on them.

According to the governor, the president is under pressure and he needs their support.
