S/KOREA: Prof Hwan, e-Govt champion, dies at 62

The project manager of e-government Capacity Building Programme in Nigeria, Prof Jeong Kuk Hwan has died, aged 62.

A statement from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), sponsor of e-government project in Nigeria, said the Korean professor passed away on Feb 21, 2018 after a brief illness.

Prof. Hwan was instrumental to the success of the e-Government project, which aims to train 21,000 public officials in Nigeria. The project started in 2013.

He also served in various high positions in Korea including special adviser to the president on e-Government matters, Director General of Ministry of Interior and Safety, and Vice President of Korea Institute for Development Strategy, Korea.
