SA publishers create rare opportunity for writers

A publishing company, Jacana Media has created a rare opportunity for African writers to apply and get to pitch their manuscripts in a live pitching session.

The publishing outfit is offering writers the chance to participate in a twenty-minute session where they would be able to pitch their books to a panel comprising a media representative, three publishers, and a high-powered bookseller.

Writers would need to tell the panel why they would be interested in hearing their pitch. The live pitching session would take place on August 4, 2017.

Jacana Media is an African publisher based in Johannesburg, South Africa, specialising in a range of different books, including fiction, non-fiction, travel, natural history, current affairs, maps, cookbooks, lifestyle, art and educational and custom publishing.

Deadline for submissions is July 14, 2017.
