Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the appointment of  Malam Lawal Sabo Ibrahim as the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the state owned Triumph Publishing Company. The governor said the appointment was part of the state government efforts toward reviving the publishing outfit.

Before his appointment, Malam Lawan Sabo was the Editor of Peoples Daily (weekend) newspaper in Abuja.

The New Managing Director, who holds a Masters Degree in English Language from Bayero university Kano, worked with the Triumph Newspaper as senior reporter and Assistant Group News Editor from 1998-2003. He also worked with Kano State Polytechnic as a lecturer from 2003-2009 before he joined the services of Leadership, Blueprint and  National Trail Newspapers  as Editor, Associate Editor and Editor respectively from 2009 -2014.

Triumph Publishing Company was  closed down in 2012.
