The article was penned by one Kasimu Ado who laboured vainly to defend Sadiq Sa’idu Yar’adua, against some of the factual observations I made concerning his master. First, Sadiq Saidu claimed through his surrogate Ado that he helped me to win election into the Katsina State House of Assembly in 2003.That was a cheap lie. I had won elective positions in my constituency long before the elections of 1999. I was elected, fairly and freely, as secretary of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) of my ward, that is the Wakilin Yamma ward, and later after the creation of Batagarawa local government, I became the Secretary to the Katsina Local Government. Before all that, I was a founding member of the famous Peoples Front of Nigeria which actually started as a farmers’ organization (Kungiyar Manoman Arewa) with its birth place as Sambo Farms, near Katsina.

For Sadiq to claim that he was responsible for my political progress is simply beyond my comprehension. Sadiq’s claim that he single handedly bankrolled my election to the Katsina State House of Assembly in 2003 was not close to the truth. This was a man that promised to foot the entire bill for my campaign, but to everybody’s shock, Sadiq withdrew his pledge on the eve of the election. No explanation was given, leaving us to conclude that his action was deliberately timed to ensure my defeat. But God did His wonders and in spite of Sadiq’s last minute’s betrayal I won my election convincingly.

Secondly, Sadiq Saidu also denied having come to me begging me to help him lobby Mr. President for the position of Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). He could make such a claim because there was   no camera to capture the incident.

And since we are on the subject of who assisted who, let me refresh Sadiq’s memory a little. Does he remember the role I played in 1999 in making him a member of the House of Representatives? Lest he forgets, there are witnesses to stimulate his memory; among them Iro Danfuloti and Babangida Hassan! Those two who were young political mobilizers in their own rights turned my house into a Mecca of sorts. If I was politically irrelevant, what could they be doing in my house?

My last advice to Sadiq is to just shut up, find something meaningful to do and stop struggling to be relevant politically. Thus by staying in Abuja and throwing insults at people that have assisted him at various times of his life, Sadiq is only compounding his problem. It is not going to get him a job.
