Excitement is building at the Sadique Baba Abubakar Golf Club in Shasha, Lagos, as it prepares to host the maiden edition of the GolfGrace Alumni Golf Tournament on May 10.

The event, organized by Agboola Kolawole, founder of the GolfGrace Training School, is set to draw over 100 players from the esteemed institution for a day of top-tier competition and camaraderie.

In a statement, the captain of the host club, Air Commodore F.T. Agbebi, expressed his enthusiasm ahead of the tournament, highlighting the significance of the event not just as a contest, but as a homecoming for GolfGrace-trained golfers.

“We are anticipating a highly competitive event,” Agbebi said. “The players have been preparing diligently, and the atmosphere is electric. The event is more than just a competition; it’s an opportunity for players trained under the same banner of GolfGrace Training School to reunite and enjoy the game.”

Echoing that excitement, Vice-Captain Dr. Dare Olayiwola emphasized the buzz surrounding the upcoming tournament and the impressive form some players are already showing.

“This tournament is truly unique for our club, and the momentum is palpable,” Dr. Olayiwola noted. “One of our players is currently playing at an impressive -9, which speaks to the level of competition we can expect. The preparation has been intense, and the players are more than ready.”

With just weeks to go, the club’s leadership assured that every detail is being fine-tuned to deliver a memorable experience. Dr. Olayiwola also emphasized the strong support system backing the event.

“With strong sponsors on board and many competitive teams in the mix, the morale is high,” he said. “From our side, we’ve been working tirelessly to ensure the course is in top condition and that the event will be both memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved. We’re excited to host this tournament,” he said.
