When you think of the “Saipa 132” as a budget car, then you think of getting real value for your money. The Saipa 132 is a small city saloon car with a 1.3 liter engine that comes with such as the air conditioning unit, power front windows, mp3 CD player, remote control and immobilizer system.
It is built in as a unit construction chassis and the suspension is very simple and basic just the way Nigerians would like it.
The 1.3 engine turns out 63 horsepower and can use an average of 6.9 litre of petrol for every 100 kilometers. The engine is laid like the old manner and looks very simple for local technicians to handle.
Its boxes nature allows give ample legroom and headroom to its passenger. It would also fit five passengers conveniently. The tyres are the regular 165/65 R13 that were common in the 1980s city car- which is very much in use a lot as taxi cabs here in Nigeria. Yes! A taxi looks more ideal for this kind of car. Speaking with the Overseas Marketing Manager (Africa & America) for Saipa Automobile Manufacturing, Mr. Magid Jamali, he said a large number of buyers in Africa, especially in Egypt, use the Saipa 132 as taxi cabs. He also expects the same here in Nigeria.
The Saipa 132 has under gone test in PAN Nigeria’s test ground and has been found fit for Nigerian roads.
When it comes to beauty, the Saipa 132 is not the kind of car you’ll call attractive, but you can deal with it with by the colour you choose. It hinds very well underneath a black colour and as a taxi cab a black and white Zebra strips would make it very western in looks.
We hope to test it as soon as it goes on sale and bring you reports.
