Salaries commission assures doctors on entitlement

Spokesman of the commission Maxwell Eseigbe said Egbule, who made the pledge when a 13-man delegation of the NMA led by its President Dr. Osahon Enabulele paid him a courtesy call praised the NMA for its commitment in fighting for its rights while advising them to be committed to their duties.

After the meeting, the chairman set up a technical committee comprising NMA and commission staff to examine the “issue of drop in call duty allowance upon promotion of medical doctors” and make recommendations.
The commission had also received the Chairman of the Public Complaints Commission Justice Udenyi Uloko who led a seven-man delegation to pay a courtesy visit.
Uloko explained that his team visited the salaries commission “to express heartfelt gratitude to the commission for the grant of ‘Peculiar Allowance’ on the 1st of January 2011.”
