Chairman of the commission Richard Onwuka Egbule while welcoming participants drawn from across all states of the federation and Abuja said the evaluation became necessary because the last one was done in 1972.
Egbule said: “The issue we have assembled here today to discuss is not one that is popular or feature very often in public discourse of the public service, yet it is at the nexus of most industrial relations disputes involving wage relativity.
“The position of a job in a given hierarchy and how much a job can attract vis-á-vis another job in the same hierarchy depends on it.”  He noted that the work of the forum is to formulate a document which ensures that all workers experience a sense of fairness and justice when they receive their wages.
