The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged motorists and travelers using the Gwagwalada corridor in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to remain patient amid heavy traffic.
The congestion follows ongoing construction work and the dismantling of temporary steel fortifications on the Gwagwalada Bridge.
The Acting Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Felicia Kalu, gave the advice in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja.
She explained that the removal of the temporary steel structures has caused a significant traffic build-up along the busy corridor.
She urged motorists to remain calm and cooperate with FRSC personnel and other security agencies deployed to manage the situation. (NAN)

“Motorists and travelers along the Gwagwalada corridor should note that the dismantling of the temporary steel fortification on the bridge has led to congestion. Road users should exercise patience, remain calm, and cooperate with personnel managing the traffic,” she said.
The spokesperson added that compliance with traffic control directives would help ease the gridlock and prevent avoidable road crashes.
She also cautioned motorists ahead of the upcoming Sallah celebrations, which typically see a surge in vehicular movement on major highways.
“As the Sallah period approaches, motorists should maintain lane discipline, avoid dangerous overtaking, and approach construction zones with caution,” she stated.
Kalu also urged travellers to plan their journeys properly and drive responsibly to ensure safety along the corridor. (NAN)
