The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has directed the deployment of 40,000 personnel for the Eid Kabir festival.
A statement, Wednesday, from the corps spokesman Emmanuel Okeh, said that the personnel will be deployed to strategic places such as praying grounds, market squares, recreational centres, shopping plazas and malls as well as other designated areas noted to be black spots.
“It is imperative in order to forestall the activities of insurgents whose target is to attack such places during festive periods,” Gana said.
Apart from the deployment of personnel for physical security, Gana approved the deployment of sniffer dogs, Mobile Surveillance Vehicles (MSV), Ambulances to be stationed at designated areas for rescue purposes and First Aid treatment.
He wished Muslim faithful a successful Eid Kabir celebration, and charged them to imbibe the teaching of Prophet Muhammed.
