The Flying Antelopes walk a tight rope after being held to a scoreless draw at home, but Sani told supersport.com that they can score the vital away goal that can sway the second leg of the last-16 tie in their favour.
“The key to our qualification is to avoid defeat and I think we are also capable of scoring an away goal in Angola,” he told supersport.com.
“They will surely come all out for victory, unlike in Enugu when they defended throughout.
“There would definitely be more gaps to exploit if they attack us and from what I saw of them in the first leg, I don’t see us losing the game.
“We now know them better and though it would be tough, we can get the job done.
“We know Nigerians are relying on us being the only (Nigerian) team left in Africa and we won’t let them down.
“We only pray for good officiating, just like it was in Enugu.”
Sani played his first league match of the season in Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Kano Pillars and he feels the timing was just right ahead of the Recreativo game.
“I’m very happy to have been finally cleared to play in the league because mere training alone isn’t good enough without testing out in real match situations.
“I played in the previous round of the Champions League against Vital’O, but playing in the league has lifted me tremendously.
“Now I have the same fitness levels as my teammates who play every week.
“It was also good for my confidence that I scored against Kano Pillars”.
