Sani Musa sponsors students abroad, builds Hospitals in N/East

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa of Niger East Senatorial District has sponsored 200 students to further their studies abroad and initiated several constituency projects, including hospitals, empowerment schemes, and educational support programmes.

The senator said 100 students were sent to India to study medicine and health-related courses, while another 100 were sponsored to China for programmes in artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy, civil engineering, data science, and mechatronics.

In the health sector, two 50-bed hospitals are under construction in Sarkin Pawa and Kuta. The facilities will include laboratories, maternity wards, surgical theatres, emergency units, and staff quarters.

Musa has also implemented empowerment initiatives for constituents. Items distributed include motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, clippers, deep freezers, generators, grinding machines, fertilizers, and irrigation tools for farmers. According to figures released by his office, over ₦143 million has been given to about 3,000 beneficiaries as cash support, while starter packs were provided to youths to set up businesses.

On education, the lawmaker has covered NECO and JAMB fees for secondary school students, assisted undergraduates with registration costs, and provided direct financial support to more than 1,000 students in tertiary institutions. Classroom blocks, ICT centres, solar street lights, boreholes, transformers, market stalls, and youth centres have also been constructed across the nine local government areas of the district.

Musa, elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the initiatives were aimed at building human capacity and improving infrastructure in Niger East.
