A former Secretary General of the then Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Alhaji Ahmed Sani Toro, who was kidnapped last Saturday night has regained his freedom.

Speaking to Daily Trust, Nasiru Toro said his father was released on Monday night after spending three days in the hands of the kidnapers.

Although he refused to disclose details of how his father was released, he said the former Commissioner of Sports in Bauchi State was in a stable health condition.

“Yes, it is true he has returned home. By the special grace of God, he was released by his abductors on Monday night.

“Naturally, he was traumatised but after the horrifying experience, he is now okay. He is fine and we thank almighty Allah for sparing his life.

“The family is also grateful for the overwhelming show of concern by Nigerians who kept calling to support us with their words of encouragement,” said Nasiru.

It will be recalled that the former member of the House of Representatives was abducted on Saturday, June 18, on the Abuja-Jos road along with a former Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Garba Iliya.

Both men were returning to Bauchi after they attended the wedding ceremony of the son of a former NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari in Abuja last Friday.
