Deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi ll, has said that the decision taken by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to ban Sheikh Abduljabbar from preaching is “right and commendable”.
Speaking on Sunday at the end of his weekly lecture in London, the former emir said Kano had always been in the forefront in following the teachings of Sheikh Usman Fodio and would not accept anything different from that.

Recall that Sheikh Abduljabar Sheikh Nasir Kabara had been barred from preaching by the state government for his mode of teaching considered too incendiary.
The state government also ordered that all seminaries run by the cleric be shut down pending investigation by security agencies.
Sanusi said the governor’s decision was commendable and urged Kano people to remain peaceful and abide by the law and order and also lauded Kano scholars for uniting against the controversial cleric and also speaking with one voice which led the government to take the action.
