Emir Sanusi is at it again. This man is not new to controversies. His views are always controversial. The position he occupied didn’t prevent him from airing his views to the public, even if those views are contrary to his immediate subject beliefs. He is ready to swallow all bashing that may arise in response to his subsequent controversial views. 

His boldness and fearlessness are too strong to make him bend to the status quo known for emirs to cloud their opinions pertaining to national issues in secrecy. To him modern day emirs should bid a farewell to that habit of keeping their mouth shut at the expense of their people. They should sermon all courage to speak on the predicament their people face. Certainly Sanusi’s peerless behaviour has shown that he is capable of saying the truth even if that truth is an outright abuse to his people.  

Indeed Sanusi has reasserted himself as an emir with scholarly mien by remaining unshaken to the saying of truth. Although some opined that, Sanusi’s incessant expression of his views without taking into account the position he currently occupied, could lead people to discredit him which is tantamount to demeaning the revered throne he currently held. I use to counter argument them with the fact that, Sanusi should not maintain sealed lips while his people are dying wretchedly of hunger and diseases.  Why should he keep quit when our kids are daily wandering aimlessly around the streets with torn clothes in the name of begging? 

The religion we all submitted ourselves to is too civilized to accommodate such behavior we portrayed as our religious principles. Islam is too civilized to give room for begging. That is the point he craved to establish. Thankfully, this cautionary advice of Sanusi is coming on the heel of the gaffe of the Year made by Governor Yari by attributing the outbreak of a disease to his people as a divine retribution of their sins. But as usual, the candid view of this rare gem was misconstrued and portrayed as abuse.
