The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially launched the Lagos Film City project in Ejinrin, Epe, Lagos.

The governor referred to the initiative as a “hub of creativity, entertainment, and learning” in Lagos, stating that it will help film production, post-production, visual effects, and other additional services that aid in the filmmaking process.

He said, “Together, we’re launching a world-class infrastructural hub that will tap into the global entertainment market. This project is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the arts and supporting the dreams of aspiring filmmakers, actors, and technicians.

“Lagos Film City will be a game-changer as it ensures that there will be no need to take creative content abroad; everything needed for globally accepted cinema production will be right here.

“These are exciting times for our local talent, and those that joined us today for the groundbreaking ceremony included Nollywood legends, diplomats, and traditional rulers.”
