Sanwo-Olu meets Lagos CAN chairman, promises to free poor from poverty

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s general elections, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, yesterday expressed concern about the level of poverty in the country with a promise to work hard in contributing to eliminate the problem.

Sanwo-Olu stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, during his ongoing consultation with stakeholders in the state.

Responding, Apostle Bamgbola urged Sanwo-Olu to seek the people’s understanding in every project he undertakes if he eventually wins the Lagos State governorship ticket.

He told the APC candidate that once the citizens won his understanding, they would be easy to administer and would enjoy his tenure as governor.

Sanwo-Olu prayed for God’s wisdom, understanding and guidance in all things he would do if elected as governor.

He said his major concern was always about “the poor people, those who don’t have a voice but should be heard, and the people at the bottom of the pyramid whose interest is how to get food every day.”

He promised not to disappoint those who would vote for him and all residents of the state generally.
