Sarah Adidi Rejects AMAC/Bwari APC Reps Primary

An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives ticket for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory, Sarah Ivie Adidi, has rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election held on Saturday, alleging irregularities in parts of the constituency.

In a statement personally signed on behalf of the Sarah Ivie Adidi Campaign Council and made available to journalists on Monday, Adidi said the exercise did not meet expectations of transparency and credibility.

The campaign council alleged that voting did not take place in some wards across the constituency, claiming that election officials and materials were not deployed to certain locations.

According to the statement, party members and supporters in parts of the AMAC and Bwari Area Councils waited for hours without the commencement of accreditation or voting.

“We have video evidence indicating that election officials and materials were not deployed to my ward and some other wards within the constituency,” the statement said.

The council said the situation denied some party members the opportunity to participate in the exercise and called on the APC leadership at both the state and national levels to review the conduct of the primary election.

It also stated that it was considering legal action over the matter.
