The Sardauna Memorial College Old Boys Association (SAMOBA) has launched a fundraising campaign to raise ₦54 million for the rebuilding of its national secretariat, while also ushering in new national executives to lead the association.

The decisions were taken at the association’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on Saturday at the Air Marshal Mohammed D. Umar (rtd) Hall of the College in Kaduna.

Outgoing National President, Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), in his valedictory remarks, described leadership in the association as a “sacred trust” anchored on service and sacrifice. He called on members to remain united and continue investing in the growth of their alma mater, which, he said, has produced generations of leaders defined by discipline, integrity, and service.

The AGM also ratified the expansion of the Board of Trustees (BoT) with the inclusion of two new members — former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Muhammad Mahmud Abubakar, and former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda bringing the BoT membership to 15.

In his farewell message, Gen. Jibril commended members for their support throughout his tenure and highlighted notable alumni contributions to the college, including road construction, provision of boreholes, toilets, and solar streetlights. He singled out Dr. Abubakar and Alhaji Musa Garba for what he described as exemplary gestures of giving back to their alma mater.

Elections held during the meeting produced Major General Abba Dikko (rtd) as the new National President. Other elected officials include Abdullahi Yusuf (Vice President), Muhammed Adamu (Secretary General), Alhassan Adamu (Legal Adviser), Kabir Lawal (Treasurer), Augustine Sunday Idoko (Welfare Secretary), Garba Mamuda (Financial Secretary), Mohammed Rufa’i (Auditor General), Jibrin Ibrahim Goma (Public Relations Officer), and Lawal Usman (Assistant Secretary). Adamu Bala Bozuns and Aliyu Jibrin were elected as Ex-Officio members.

The AGM, attended by distinguished old boys from across the country, ended with a renewed commitment to unity, collective responsibility, and the association’s vision of strengthening educational development and national service.
