The Sasakawa Africa Association, (SAA), has revealed that over 1.2 million rural farmers benefited from its interventions within the last 30 years of its existence in Africa.

This was disclosed yesterday in Kano by its Country Director, Professor Sani Miko at a press conference to mark SAA’s 30th anniversary.

According to him that programme began in March 1992, under an agreement signed with the then Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources to work with federal and state agencies to raise agricultural productivity and improve food crop marketing among farmers.

He added that the project has also served as a catalyst that linked the farmers to access good quality seeds, farm inputs, bank loans and established a linkage that allows for easy access to markets.
