It doesn’t matter whether you have been struggling with life or not. When God created you He ordained you to be satisfied with life. This is God’s plan for you, that you may be satisfied and enjoy life to the fullest.
You may want to ask, is it possible for anyone to be really satisfied in this world? Exactly. It is God’s will that you are satisfied in life. The scripture in Joel chapter 2 verse 26, says “And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.”
What does it mean to be satisfied?
When you give someone what he desires and he is pleased, that is an indication that such one is satisfied. To satisfy someone is to do something that gives him pleasure.
To be satisfied means your needs or desires have been met adequately. This is God’s will and perfect plan for you. Your desires, your expectations, and every need of your life have been adequately provided for, so that you may be satisfied on his side of life.
The natural mind says that man’s needs are insatiable. But contrary to man’s theory, God’s plan for you is that of abundance and satisfaction. It is indeed true that everyone wants to get better. A man who is a millionaire today wants to become a billionaire tomorrow. Someone with a house of his own wants to have an estate. This is simply a product of his growing desire and taste for more of life, and it is not wrong to desire a better life.
The scripture tells us in 1Peter chapter 1 verse 3, that God has made adequate provision for us in all things which pertain to righteousness and good living. He has simply gone ahead to make adequate provision for all our needs. His standard is that you may be abundantly satisfied and be without emergency. You must be pleased with life. Your labour must be adequately rewarded, and your effort must be recognized and adequately gratified. That is, leading an ever progressing life of adequacy and fulfillment, and also, be satisfied in all ramifications.
The man of God, Pastor Adeboye once said that sometime he asked God for a house but He told him “I will give you a city”. And today, the Redemption Camp in Lagos is a growing phenomenon.
A woman was barren for many years and eventually met a man of God who prayed for her to be fruitful, and to everyone’s surprise she gave birth to 11 children, all within four years. She had multiple births each time she conceived. Scared she ran to the same man of God to pray again and stop the flow. To the woman it was more than enough. Her cup was full and running over. This is what God can do for His own children.
A lady was looking for a life partner for a long time, and when God moved in to fulfill His plan for her, she was bombarded with so many suitors that she became confused about which one to choose.
These are evidence that God is more than enough for your need, and He is more than able to adequately satisfy your desires and meet all your needs. The word of Psalms 23 is a graphical illustration of a satisfied life. It says in verse 5, “you prepare a: able before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.”
The satisfied life is a life of abundance. The scripture also tells us that God is well able to give to us much more than we can ask, think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). This is satisfaction beyond imagination.
Being satisfied is synonymous with happiness, contentment and fulfillment. When you are divinely satisfied, it brings refreshing, happiness and contentment. It gives you pleasure and it invigorates with new strength. God has promised in Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 14 saying, “I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness”.
Are you on the lower side of life? Have you a need or desire that sems to linger for too long? God can make you to lie in the green pastures of His abundance. He can lead you beside the still waters and satisfy your soul. He said in Isaiah 55:1-2, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come; buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread; And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance”.
How you can be satisfied beyond imagination
Following are some of the ways you can position yourself for God’s satisfaction
1. Commit your life to Him and receive His salvation (Mathew 6:33)
2. Live in righteousness and He will delight in you (Psalms 37:18-19)
3. Do not think more highly about yourself than you ought to (Psalms 22:26)
4. He is a jealous God and hates when you find alternatives to him (Ecclesiastes 5:10)
