Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement to open around 40 cinemas in 15 cities over the next five years.

 

After 35years, Saudi’s Ministry of Culture and Information got its first license which allows film companies around the globe to operate cinemas in the Kingdom.

 

Also, 350 cinemas with more than 2,500 screens will be opened by 2030 which will require men and women to sit together, a source told Reuters on Wednesday.

 

Its first new movie theater will open April 18 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

 

Saudi Arabia, with a population of 32 million, mostly under the age of 30, is expected to be the region’s largest market for movie theaters. Arab News reported.
