SSAEAC President Comrade Bede Opara disclosed this to our correspondent following last Friday’s handover of the entities to their new  owners.
Opara said the union started post privatisation plans for its members since 2005,when it projected a long term plan for the workers in a post PHCN era.
He said SSAEAC has branches in each of the new establishments in order to protect the interest of the workers that would be retained by the companies, stressing that the union would ensure the rights of workers are respected.
Opara criticised the federal government for failure to settle the severance pay of the workers of the PHCN before transferring the assets of the power companies to their new owners and also for violating the agreement it reached with the workers when it issued disengagement letters with severance pay and pension matters unresolved.
