Comrade Alhassan made the observation while giving his remarks at the opening ceremony of the first Quadrennial National Women Delegate Conference in Mararaba, Nasarawa State over the weekend.
While stressing that women occupy a strategic position in the society, Alhassan maintained that women must actively participate in unionism to be reckoned with.
He said they must be efficient at their work place, lamenting that “Some of you don’t go to the office while some of you are now business women in the office. All these must stop.” The Conference of NUPTE Women Committee had “The role of women in true unionism” as its theme with delegates from all the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory in attendance.
