A 30-year-old scavenger, identified as Godspower Osas, has been arrested by operatives of the Edo State Security Corps for allegedly vandalizing a public school in Edo State.
The suspect allegedly trespassed into Urora Secondary School, where he vandalized aluminum windows and doors.
He was reportedly intercepted by Corps operatives while transporting the stolen items to a buyer.
In an interview, the suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he stole the items from the school when no one was on the premises.
“I used a hammer to remove the doors and windows. I wanted to sell them to get money,” he said, adding that he was on his way to sell the items when he was caught.
The Deputy Corps Commander, Richard Balogun, confirmed the incident.
