The group under the aegis of Space Community Development Initiative (SCDI) donated wheelchairs, medical items, cash and security kits to physically challenged, less privileged and Vigilante in the central district in kogi state to improve their standard of living.
In an elaborate celebration yesterday in Okene, the chairman of the non governmental organization, Tijani Ahmed said the
intervention project is aimed at uplifting and touching lives of the people in the society of central district of the state .
He said that every act of kindness, no matter how small has the potential to transform lives and bring hope where it is most needed.
Ahmed added that the action of the group in investing over N100m to provide donated items across the five local governments in the district is to reflect on the essence of giving and the impact it can create to transform the society.

“Since our inception, Space Community Development Initiative(SCDI) has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving humanity and making a tangible difference in the lives of the less privileged and marginalized among us.
“Each of these interventions represents more than just acts of charity, they are symbols of our unwavering commitment to standing shoulder-to shoulder with our community and addressing its most pressing needs”, he said .
He stressed further that between 2018 to 2023, the group has intervened the society in the central district with great impact in services and provision of valuable items to address pressing needs at the grassroots .
He said in the last six years, the group extended a hand of love to an orphanage homes; donated bedspreads to the General Hospital in Okene; distributed food items and cash to individuals aged 70 years; empowered 1,000 petty traders
and renovated and remodeled classrooms at Oboroke Ihima in Okehi local government.
“In 2024, we are focusing on less privileged, physically challenged in the society and vigilante to improve the life of grass root people in the district .
“We are donating wheelchairs to individuals with physical disabilities to ease their movement and independence.
“We are contributing medical items to enhance healthcare delivery in our communities.
“We are distributing food materials to alleviate hunger and bring relief to families in need, including providing financial assistance to uplift and support those who are struggling.
“We are also providing security kits, head lamps, boots and its likes to vigilante to enhance their performance in their community policing function”, he said .
However, stakeholders have urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the donated items and shun the urge to put them on sale for monetary gains .
The head of the kogi state vigilante, Abdulrahaman Adinoyi, the Ohi of Okene , Alhaji Isah mamman and the secretary of people living with disabilities in kogi , Yakubu Nasir commended the initiative of the group , urging the local government to borrow some leaves from their gesture for better impact.
“If you are not going to use it or have in mind to sell donated items, do not collect it . Let those who are in need have them, and use them to project the initiative of the group to inspire others to key into the program for more in our status to benefit”, said Nasir , sectary physically challenged in kogi .
