Managing Director of the company, Walid Sheta said in Lagos that such investment option entails provision of value-adding services like wiring and quality electrical installations which will check the spate of fire incidents in the built sector.
He told journalists that such services will be invaluable in places like Victoria Island, Lekki, Port Harcourt, Abuja, where there are tremendous works ongoing in the building and construction sector.
He said, “We see multi-storey structures everywhere. So we’re going to address this emerging segment which is essential in a growing market where the middle class is rising. Housing is an important market and we’re going to address this growing need.
‘’There are more than 180 million inhabitants living in many cities in Nigeria. Among the 30 biggest cities in Africa, 10 are in Nigeria.
“Geographic coverage is going to be key for Schneider Electric. We’ll be present in all these cities to provide the necessary solutions for these massive infrastructure projects.”
Speaking, Vice President of Retail Business, Schneider, Tonye Briggs said his company will provide such wiring services in building in 15 cities of the country in 2016.
According to him, currently the company is focusing the services on Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
