Primary school pupils in Bauchi State offer daily pre-meal prayer for the well-being of Nigeria, President Buhari and Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.

This was observed during a non-scheduled inspection visit Friday to Nassarawa Primary School in Bauchi metropolis, by members of the State Multi Sectoral Team (SSFMT) led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Social Investment Programmes (SIPs), Mansur Manu Soro.

The state programme manager of Home Grown School Feeding, Aliyu Mohd Sani said that the prayer is not limited to Bauchi LGA but the entire State.

He said that the prayer was the initiative of school teachers, parents and local education officers to reciprocate the gesture extended to the children by the Buhari administration and assisted by Governor Abubakar led State Government.

Bauchi State was one of the few states in the northern region to have satisfied the requirements of the Federal Government and commenced the implementation of school feeding in 2017.

School Feeding programme is one of the clusters of Social Investment programmes of the Buhari administration that provides one hot meal a day to children in all public primary schools with the view to increase enrollment and retention, tackle malnutrition, create jobs and stimulate state agricultural economy.
