The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has given contractors handling school projects funded through the 2022/2023 UBEC/SUBEB Matching Grants a 14-day ultimatum.

Its executive chairman, Grace Adagba, gave the ultimatum on Tuesday during the monitoring exercise of the projects aimed at ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

“We have seen that most contractors are doing their best, but some are slow. We have given them a 14-day ultimatum to complete the projects.

“The project duration is six months, and at the end of April, the timeline for executing the projects will elapse. If they fail to deliver within the given period, they will face sanctions,” she warned.

Adagba noted that several projects had been completed while others had reached 85 percent completion.

Some of the schools visited were LGEA Primary School Nege, Mbatiav, Gboko; St. James Primary School, Mbadeda, Yandev Gboko; St. Francis Primary School, Agidi-Mbatiav Gboko; RCM Primary School, Agayo Gboko; and LGEA Primary School, Selagi in Konshisha LGA.
