School resumption: FCTA satisfied with students’ turnouts

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) says it is impressedwith turnout of students, pupils, and teachers as schools in the FCT resumed for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Top FCTA officials, led by the Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, stated this during a routine inspection of schools in Abuja on Monday. 

The inspection covered primary and secondary schools in Garki Area 11, Garki Area 3, Wuye, Wuse Zone 6, and Wuse Zone 3.

Hayyo, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Joy Okeke, said that both private and public schools recorded strong attendance. 

 He explained that school inspections are a regular practice at the beginning of each term to monitor student resumption and teacher readiness.

Expressing his satisfaction with the turnout, he said, “This shows that the schoolchildren are ready to learn, and the teachers are also ready for their teaching activities.”

 Hayyo urged parents whose children have not yet returned to school to release them so they can join their peers.

“All FCT schools, both private and public, have resumed. I am very impressed with the situation,” he added. (NAN)
