The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has urged schools to teach values as contained in the national curriculum. National President of the Association, Mrs. Sally Bolujoko, made the remarks during a self-awareness workshop organized by the North Central Zone chapter in Abuja. She said schools and parents must actively strive to build the character of students by promoting values and ethics. She said the move will stamp out moral decadence in the societies, develop students’ self-knowledge and enable them distinguish right from wrong. The association urged governments to improve public education by providing schools with infrastructure and enhancing the welfare of teachers.
In her remarks, the zonal chairperson, Mrs. Dupe Utsalo, said sthe essence of the event was to ensure effective communication and team building among members. She said all private schools under her control were instructed to provide higher quality education as well as safe learning environment and effective instructional facilities.
