SCI inaugurates Coalition for its programmes in Katsina

The Save the Children International (SCI) has inaugurated a Coalition of civil Society Organisations for its Better Life for Girls Project in Katsina state.

The CSOs comprise of various Non governmental organisation drawn from the state handling Children and women related issues.

Speaking at the inauguration, the state SCI field manager, Dr. Ahmad Abubakar said SCI is committed to making a safe state for the children and to engage various stakeholders with a view to seeking appropriate laws to better the child.

In her remarks, Binta Fatima Hussaini, the program manager of Reaching and Empowering Adolescent to make Informed choices for their Health (REACH) said the program shall strengthened the capacity of the CSOs to influence the domestication and implementation of the Child Right Act (CRA) in the state.

According to her, the promotion and implementation of the National Strategy to end Child marriage in the country at both Federal and state levels.

Earlier, Murjanatu Kabir, the community Engagement and advocacy coordinator, said the CSO shall advocate to government, policy makers and religious leaders to reverse unsafe practices for the children.
