The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked reports that it has collapsed its gubernatorial structure with that of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the November 11 elections.
The party said the report was nothing but a figment of the imagination of mischievous people to cause disaffection against the party at this stage of the race.
Reports making the rounds had indicated that Murtala Ajaka, the candidate of the SDP had stepped down for Leke Abejide of the ADC ahead of the polls.
But the DG New Media MuriSam Campaign Council, Isaiah Davies Ijele, who allegedly signed the said statement, told Daily Trust that the alleged statement is “false and baseless.”
“Murtala Yakubu Ajaka is the candidate of the people and cannot step down for anyone at this point. It is already beyond him; Ajaka is the movement of the people as ordained by God,” he said.
