Sea pirates abduct 2 monarchs in Bayelsa

Armed men suspected to be pirates on Wednesday afternoon ambushed two speedboats and kidnapped three persons along the Ogbia-Brass waterways in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.

This is coming barely three weeks after pirates killed four soldiers and one policeman at a military base in Nembe, in Nembe local government area of the state.

 
Spokesman of the state police command, Asinim Butswat who confirmed the development on Thursday said he was yet to get details.
 
Those abducted are two Okpoama chiefs identified as Chief Blessing Wagio, Chief Isaac Akono-Igolo, a security man whose identity had not been ascertained.
 
Our correspondent gathered that the victims’ boats left the Ogbia water front at about 2pm for Brass when they came under attack around Kiberibio area of the Ogbia-Brass waterways.
