Security agents arrest kidnappers, rescue 3 victims in Ogun

A team of security forces in Ogun State have arrested three kidnappers in a forest along Imeko-Iwoye Ketu road in Imeko-Afon LGA and rescued three victims.

It was gathered that the suspects, Aliu Abubakar (29), Umaru Tukur (24) and Yau Isah (25), were arrested following a distress call to the police.

In a statement on Tuesday, the police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Tuesday, said they got a hint that kidnappers blocked Termac-Iwoye road.

He said the police further gathered that the hoodlums had injured two people, Bode Ogunleye and Muhammad Basa, and abducted three others, Alhaji Fatai Abdulsalam, Alhaji Dauda Orelope and Alhaji Rafiu Isah.

He further said, “Due to the intense pressure, the kidnappers abandoned their victims, leaving an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle behind at their hideout in the forest.

“The victims were rescued unhurt, while the security operatives continued combing the bush which led to the discovery of the three among the suspects.

“When they were searched, the key to the abandoned Bajaj motorcycle was recovered in the pocket of one of them, alongside three cutlasses.”
