Kwara Falcons, Rivers Hoopers, Benue Braves and Nigeria Customs have qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing 2022 Nigeria Professional Basketball League.

The one week Nigerian playoff which dunked off on Monday had 8 teams divided into two groups; Atlantic conference and Savannah conference.

At the start of the competition, each group had four teams each out of which the top two were to qualify for the knock-out stage.

So, at the conclusion of the round robin of four matches, in each of the two groups, Kwara Falcons won three matches and lost 1 while Rivers Hoopers, also won three matches and lost one to qualify out the group stage in the Atlantic conference group.

Police Baton and Lagos Islanders were the other teams that did not qualify out of the group as they both couldn’t win a single match.

In the Savannah Conference group, Benue Braves also won three matches and lost one while Nigeria Custom three and lost a match to zoom into the semi final.

Following their lacklustre performances, Nigerian basketball giants, Gombe Bulls and Kano Pillars failed to progress out of the Savannah conference.

In the semi-final fixtures, Benue Braves will take on Kwara Falcons while Rivers Hoopers engage Nigeria Customs today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

The winner of this year’s Super 8 competition ending on Saturday will represent Nigeria at the 2022/23 Basketball Africa League season in Kigali, Rwanda.
