Host Edo Queens will renew their rivalry with newly founded Remo Stars girls as the semi-final matches of the ongoing Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament (BOWFT) will be played today at the Western Boys Mini-Stadium in Ikpoba-Okha and UNIBEN Sports Complex.

When the two clubs met for the first time in the opening match of Group A, Edo Queens laboured to a 2-1 win over the Ikenne based Ladies so the semi-final match offers Remo Stars the opportunity to avenge that defeat.

To set up the semi-final match, Edo Queens defeated Heartland Ladies 2-1 in the quarter-final while debutants Remo Stars shocked defending champions FC Robo 3-1.

In the other semi-final match, the reigning Federation Cup champions, Bayelsa Queens will tread tackles with Delta Queens at the UNIBEN Sports Complex.

Bayelsa Queens mauled Ekiti Queens 4-1 while Delta Queens edged out Nasarawa Amazons 3-1 in the other quarter-final match.

Winners of the semi-final matches will play the finals of the tournament on Wednesday, November 1st at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

A total of 13 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) clubs participated in the tournament which commenced on October 23.

Meanwhile, organisers of the highly rated pre-season football tournament have said over 23 wives of serving and former governors will attend the finals of the tournament which will hold alongside the closing ceremony of the competition at the magnificent Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
